The Global Health program has identified the following opportunities as appropriate and allowable for students seeking to fulfill the Global Health minor Field Work Experience requirement. Click each opportunity below for more details.
- Study Abroad in Ghana with GEO on the “Global Health, Development and Service-Learning in Accra” Program
- Completing this study abroad program can help Global Health minors fulfill a variety of Global Health minor requirements, in addition to the Field Work Experience requirement.
- Study Abroad in Costa Rica with GEO on the “Health and Wellness in Costa Rica” Program
- Completing this study abroad program can help Global Health minors fulfill 4.00 units of Social Science/Humanities requirements, in addition to the Field Work Experience requirement.
- Peer Wellness Advocate via the UO Duck Nest
- Global Health minors accepted and trained as a Peer Wellness Facilitator can register for 4.00 units of individualized study credits to satisfy the Field Work Experience requirement.
- Global Health Minors in the Oregon Public Health Corps
- Global Health minors accepted and trained by the UO Corona Corps can register for 4.00 units of individualized study credits with Dr. Jeff Measelle to satisfy the Field Work Experience requirement.
- Experiential learning courses offered in AY20-21
- Exceptional course-based experiential learning opportunities were offered to students during the 20-21 Academic Year based on COVID-19 restrictions impacting student plans for fulfilling their Global Health minor Fieldwork Experience requirement (GLBL 410, “Global Cultures: Experiential & Project Based Learning”). Global Health minors should not expect such courses to be offered in the future and should plan ahead to pursue another opportunity to complete their Global Health minor Fieldwork Experience requirement.
