Scholarships

  • Off the Beaten Track Scholarship Call
    “This call is aimed at budding researchers with creative and open minds interested in the challenges of applied research. We offer a unique learning opportunity in a multidisciplinary research project on the isle of Gozo, Malta. Expeditions and the University of Leuven offer two full scholarships for the 2021 Off the Beaten Track Malta Summer Program. Scholarships are granted on a competitive basis and based on a research proposal.”

  • The Aspen Institute Healthy Communities Fellowship
    The Aspen Global Innovators Group at the Aspen Institute and the Aetna Foundation have launched a new fellowship for community leaders addressing health inequities through the lens of the social determinants of health. The Aspen-Aetna Healthy Communities Fellowship will select 5 leaders working on these issues in the United States to participate in a curated, one-year fellowship program to develop their voices as experts in the field of the social determinants of health.
  • Association of Schools & Programs of Public Health Fellowships & Internships
  • The Borgen Project
    The Borgen Project is an innovative, national campaign working to make poverty a focus of U.S. foreign policy. There are several internship positions available with new programs beginning every month. Click here to visit their “Internships” page for more information.
  • Internships with Gravity Water
    “Gravity Water” is a US-based 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization seeking a brand-new solution to the Global Water Crisis, providing clean drinking water to communities in developing countries by utilizing a unique, 100% electricity-free approach. Visit their website, check out their “Get Involved” and “Internships” pages for more details. Internships are unpaid, generally 6-months or 12-months long, and located in California (state wide). Their website indicates that “Interns who successfully participate in a 12-month internship at Gravity Water will earn a full-expense paid trip to participate in a Gravity Water team trip in Vietnam or Nepal.”

  • Portland State University (PSU) Social Determinants of Health Initiative
    Global Health Minors have been able to independently reach out to PSU faculty in the past (on their own) and arrange for volunteer or internship placements, pursuant to PSU faculty availability.

Conferences & Leadership Development

  • APRU Global Health Conference
    Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is “a network of leading universities linking the Americas, Asia and Australasia” that identifies themselves as “the Voice of Knowledge and Innovation for the Asia-Pacific region.” Annually, they put together a “Global Health Conference” that provides students with the opportunity to submit abstracts on specific themes related to global health. Student seeking to present their global health related research may find this to be an exciting opportunity to pursue.
  • Global Health and Innovation Annual Conference
    “The Global Health & Innovation Conference (#GHIC) is the world’s leading and largest global health conference as well as the largest social entrepreneurship conference, with nearly 2,000 professionals and students from all 50 states and more than 55 countries. This must-attend, thought-leading conference convenes leaders, change makers, and participants from all sectors of global health, international development, and social entrepreneurship.”
  • Global Health Corps
    Global Health Corps is building the next generation of diverse health leaders. We offer a range of paid fellowship roles with health organizations in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the United States, and Zambia and the opportunity to develop as a transformative leader in the health equity movement. Everyone has a role to play in the health equity movement
  • Saha Global Leadership Program
    Saha Global knows that young people have the skills, intellect and determination required to solve some of the world’s greatest problems. Through our Global Leadership Program, we provide young leaders the opportunity to harness their passions and knowledge in an impactful way. Since 2008, our three-week Global Leadership Program has trained hundreds of volunteer Field Representatives to help us launch women-owned businesses that provide clean water to an entire rural community in northern Ghana.
